Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine which means science of life. Ayurveda states that a balance of the three elemental substances Vata, Pita and Kapha, equals health, while imbalance equals disease. It stresses the use of plant made medicine and treatment. Yoga is a sister alliance of Ayurveda. An Ayurvedic Practitioner will recommend different kinds of yogasana and pranayama for a healthy mind, body and soul. Traditionally Astavidha parixa (an eight fold examination) was being used to diagnose disease in patients, before the use of diagnostic tests like xrays, scans, and blood work. The true aim of Ayurveda is to clear out the clutter in the mind, body and senses, in order to access our greatest potential for health and thriving.
